PRESS RELEASE
Save-On-Foods Makes Commitment
to Victoria

RG Properties is pleased to
announce that Save-On-Foods, a
division of the B.C. based
grocery chain, the Overwaitea
Food Group, has secured the
title sponsorship of the 7,000
seat arena rising from the
ground at Caledonia and
Blanshard Streets. The
replacement facility for the
venerable Victoria Memorial
Arena will now be known as
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre.
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre, the new
home of the ECHL’s Victoria
Salmon Kings, world-class
concerts, family shows, trade
shows and 2,000 annual hours of
community use will be the 3rd
largest venue in British
Columbia and a regional centre
for entertainment on Vancouver
Island.
Graham Lee, President of RG
Properties is ecstatic about the
new relationship. “The
Overwaitea Food Group and its
Save-On-Foods Division in
particular is well known
throughout Western Canada for
its commitment to the
communities they serve. This
investment shows Victorians that
this building will not only be a
premier entertainment facility,
but also a centre for community
activities in the Greater
Victoria area.”
Save-On-Foods operates two
locations in Greater Victoria
and is part of the Jim Pattison
Group (JPG) of Companies.
“The Jim Pattison Group is one
of the must successful
organizations in B.C. and
Canada. Having them on board,
through a growing division like
Save-On-Foods, is a sign to all
of Victoria that this building
is truly going to be a premier
facility,” added Lee.
The agreement with Save-On-Foods
is a 10-year agreement and
includes various signage
provisions in addition to the
