NICKELBACK
TAKES TIME OUT FROM RECORDING
THEIR NEW ALBUM TO PERFORM LIVE
IN VICTORIA
Nickelback consistently
sells out arenas worldwide, and
their popularity has risen
rapidly since their 2000 debut
The State, followed by 2001's
record-breaking album Silver
Side Up. Chances are no one
needs reminding that SSU's first
single "How You Remind Me"
received numerous awards, and
was the #1 most played song of
2002, helping Nickelback
achieve the title of "#1 most
played rock act" that same year.
As if that wasn't enough,
Nickelback's record-breaking
2004 Canadian Tour saw the band
play 42 shows in 32 cities.
Taking time out from recording
their new album, Nickelback
will hit the road to play a few
dates this summer. The
monstrous, multi-platinum
selling act has been hard at
work in its hometown of
Vancouver, where Chad Kroeger,
Ryan Peake, Daniel Adair and
Mike Kroeger are self-producing
the follow-up to the massive
2003 record The Long Road
("Someday", "Figured You Out", "Feelin'
Way Too Damn Good").
For many audience members, these
shows will mark the introduction
of former 3 Doors Down touring
drummer and Vancouver resident
Daniel Adair into the
Nickelback fold. With new
energy in the band, everyone
seems more excited than ever
about the prospects for
Nickelback, a group that has
already achieved success on a
scale that dwarfs nearly every
other contemporary rock act.
With their trademark melodic
crunch and ability to write
great rock songs with
across-the-board appeal,
Nickelback is destined be a
mainstay at rock radio for years
to come.
Don't miss Nickelback
when they perform live at the
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on
Friday, August 19th and
Saturday, August 20th with
special guests Bif
Naked (both shows) and
The Trews (Friday
only).
