acclaimed Bat Out Of Hell hit
show to Canada!
Los Angeles, CA (December 11,
2006) – Grammy® Award winner and
one of the top-selling artists
of all time, Meat Loaf, brings
Broadway to the locals with his
critically acclaimed live show
featuring songs from all three
Bat Out of Hell albums with
dates beginning early 2007.
Thirteen years in the making,
Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster
is Loose unleashed to a hungry
public on October 31st with a
debut at #8 on the Billboard
charts and a top 5 debut in more
than 10 countries. Meat Loaf is
now ready to take the epic
trilogy on tour beginning
Friday, February 23 in Pala,
California (see dates below).
The three act performance
includes smash hits from each of
the Bat Out Of Hell
installments, including “Two Out
of Three Ain’t Bad,” “You Took
the Words Right Out of My
Mouth,” and the show-stopping
“Paradise by the Dashboard
Lights.” Act 2 features more
favorites including the classic
international chart-topper “I’d
Do Anything for Love (But I
Won’t Do That),” which earned
Meat Loaf a Grammy for Best Rock
Vocal Solo Performance. Finally,
act 3 brings the franchise full
circle with the powerful, “It’s
All Coming Back to Me Now, ”
“Blind as a Bat” and a finale
spanning the entire “Bat”
series.
Opening for Meat Loaf on his
Canadian tour is Marion Raven,
his duet partner on the hit
single, “It’s All Coming Back To
Me Now.” An international star
around the world in her own
right, Raven’s debut solo album
will be released in March on
Interscope Records Canada. The
album was previously released in
Japan (#1 Single, #6 album),
Southeast Asia (Top 5 throughout
the region) and her home country
of Norway (#6 album).
Meat Loaf is in top form with
audience and critics taking
notice during several one night
only preview performances of
‘Bat on Broadway’ last month
(the limited engagement glimpse
of the trilogy).
Bat Out of Hell III: The Monster
is Loose was produced by
hit-maker Desmond Child, and
completed with the close
participation of two key Bat Out
of Hell veterans: Todd Rundgren,
contributing vocal arrangements,
and Jim Steinman, writing seven
songs. Mixed by Grammy Award
winning studio engineer Greg
Collins (U2, Gwen Stefani), with
string arrangements by David
Campbell, this final installment
of the Bat franchise includes
special guest appearances by
Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx
and Rob Zombie guitarist John 5
(ex-Marilyn Manson) who co-wrote
the title track with Child, as
well as guitar hero Steve Vai
appears on the record and is a
co-writer. Also included on the
album is production/session whiz
John Shanks, as well as an
unmistakable signature
appearance by Queen guitarist
Brian May on “Bad For Good.”
Meat Loaf’s Bat Out Of Hell
(1977), the immortal and
genre-transforming original,
released in 1977 with songs by
Jim Steinman and production by
Todd Rundgren, ran for an
extraordinary 82 weeks on the
Billboard album chart and has
sold in excess of 14 million
copies in the U.S. alone. The
second installment, Bat Out of
Hell II: Back Into Hell,
released in 1993 earned Meat
Loaf a Grammy for Best Rock
Vocal Solo Performance. Meat
Loaf has a total of 24
multi-platinum, platinum and
gold RIAA awards. ).
Additionally, he simultaneously
released the album Storytellers,
in partnership with VH-1 and his
autobiography To Hell and Back
in 2003.
Meat Loaf, one of most diverse
talents in entertainment today,
has appeared in more than 60
television and feature films
including, The Rocky Horror
Picture Show (as Eddie), Roadie,
Fight Club, Wayne’s World, Out
of Bounds, The Squeeze, Leap of
Faith, and most recently a
critically acclaimed role as
Jack Black’s father in Tenacious
D: The Pick of Destiny. At the
outset of his performing career,
he also appeared onstage in Hair
in Los Angeles, Detroit and on
Broadway.
