PRESS RELEASE
ignition: a
message of hope for Victoria
youth
Three bands and a
life-changing message at
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre
September 30th, 2006 - 7:00PM
On September 30, 2006, at the
Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre,
contemporary Christian rock
bands Tree63, Joy Williams, and
Salvador will join keynote
speaker Will Graham in
challenging Victoria’s youth to
respond to a life-changing
message of hope.
ignition is phase six of a
seven-phase youth training and
mentoring process that
meaningfully integrates the
Christian faith with
contemporary youth culture. The
process, organized by local
youth leaders and co-sponsored
by the Billy Graham Evangelistic
Association of Canada, has been
successfully executed in Barrie,
ON in 2004, Halifax, NS in 2005,
and St. John’s, NFLD in 2005,
and is now under way in
Victoria.
Will Graham, the 31-year-old
grandson of evangelist Billy
Graham, has been the keynote
speaker all ignition events, and
the response to his message has
been consistently positive.
Tree63, from Durban, South
Africa, is a seasoned and highly
skilled three-piece rock band
well worth seeing in its own
right. Joy Williams’ high energy
contemporary pop style, combined
with a top-notch band, has won
over fans across the US and
Canada. Salvador delivers an
impressive Latin-flavoured live
performance that includes fiery
guitar solos, a horn section and
super-tight vocals.
ignition begins at 7:00 p.m.
