Sum 41 needs no introduction as
Canada’s top pop punk band. Two
time Juno award winners (Best
Group ‘03 and Best Rock Album
‘05), this band’s success
includes several multi-platinum
records here at home as well as
over 7 million units sold
worldwide.
Sum 41 is back with their long
awaited fourth album, Underclass
Hero, released July 24. The
album was #1 the first week it
was released in Canada and Japan
as well as a top ten album in
America. Self-produced by front
man Deryck Whibley, it is the
follow up to Chuck, which
spawned the hits “We’re All To
Blame” and “Pieces”.
Stylistically, Sum 41 continue
their unique meld of raucous
punk-rock and thunderous heavy
metal while stretching their
wings with their most mature
songwriting to date. From the
rallying cry of first single
“Underclass Hero” to the
reflective musings of the ballad
“Best Of Me”, Sum 41 deliver on
every level. Sum 41 continues to
defy labeling, having
collaborated with and toured
alongside musical icons that
include Iggy Pop, Ludacris,
Metallica and Motley Crue.
Burlington’s home town heroes,
Finger Eleven made their
triumphant re-entry into the
music scene on March 6, 2007
with their fourth Wind-up
Records release, Them vs. You
vs. Me. Most recognized for
their international multi-format
smash single “One Thing” from
their previous self-titled
album, the band has once again
rocketed into the limelight
after a four year hiatus. Them
vs. You vs. Me has reached
Platinum status on the back of
the band’s addictive hit “Paralyzer”.
The massively successful single
has broken the Canadian Rock
Radio Record for most
consecutive weeks at #1, has
held #1 position on Much Music’s
top 30 countdown, received two
MMVA nominations and has
received Platinum certification
for digital single sales. This
phenomenal success is carrying
over into the US where
“Paralyzer” currently holds the
#1 position at both the
Alternative and Active Rock
formats.
Finger Eleven made Canadian
Music history in July by being
the first band to perform on the
CHUM Building roof top during
the 2007 Much Music Video
Awards. The band continues their
winning streak with their second
single, "Falling On" which
topped the Canadian BDS Rock
Chart this week!
