This fall Canada’s premier chanteuse is set to tour, theatre style, across Canada. Like her albums before, Jann Arden’s self-titled release contains quirky, catchy melodies, emotionally evocative voice and hundred-pound lyrics. On the surface, much of this new album is filled with up-tempo, radio friendly songs, but listen again and Arden’s deceptively enlightening interpretations of the common will begin to emerge.

“That’s what was so interesting to me, that she was writing, lyrically, so differently. It’s more optimistic, more narrative and more observational,” explained long time collaborator Russell Broom. “Here is this really special person who has this ability to articulate all these things she experiences – that everyone experiences. Her writing effectively captures the experience of the common person – because she is one. Because of that, I think people relate to her sincere, heartfelt, deep lyrics –– they resonate with people.”

Included on Jann Arden is the highly anticipated duet with fellow Canadian singer Sarah McLachlan ‘I Would Die For You’. “The response to our performance of this song at a benefit was just so overwhelming. People talked about how good our voices were and about it being the showstopper. I just thought it would be a really interesting bonus track on this record. McLachlan is such a well respected international mega-star.”

- Any patrons arriving after the draw will line up after the last ticket handed out.
